Dr. Soussou is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist, committed to providing quality and evidence-based dental care for healthy, medically compromised, and special needs infants, children, and adolescents. She is proficient in the safe delivery of treatment using nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation in addition to her skilful training in behaviour management and clinical hypnosis techniques. Dr. Soussou feels privileged to be working with children because it brings the child in her! She is passionate about children; she strives to help children feel comfortable and relaxed at their dental appointment. She befriends them and establishes the special trust to make their visit as easy, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible. She loves making a positive difference in children’s life; seeing the smiles on their faces is particularly rewarding.

Dr. Soussou received her bachelor’s degree in dental surgery (BDS) in 2001 from the Jordan University of Science and Technology, she also received her American Dental Board accreditation in 2004. Dr. Soussou knew, since graduation, that her heart lies in pediatric dentistry. She worked with children for eleven years in a Dental Center in Amman, Jordan. Dr. Soussou moved with her family to Vancouver in 2012. She returned to school to pursue specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of British Columbia where she also obtained a Masters in Craniofacial Science. The scope of her research was focused on advocating the importance of oral health care to children’s caregivers. She believes that building positive attitudes and habits about dental health starting from childhood will lead to a better oral health, overall health, and in turn, confident smiles.

Dr. Soussou is also a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, British Columbia Society of Pediatric Dentistry, British Columbia Dental Association, Canadian Association of Public Health Dentistry and Canadian Society of Clinical Hypnosis.

Dr. Soussou is committed to teaching and training future dentists and pediatric dentists and is a Clinical Professor at the University of British Columbia and attending staff at the BC Children’s Hospital.

In her spare time, you will find Dr. Soussou at the swimming pool with her husband and two daughters, either swimming or cheering her two competitive swimmer daughters. She also enjoys baking, travelling, and exploring new countries, cultures and food with her family and friends!
